I grew up in South Bend, Indiana GO IRISH! I met Nathaniel Linden in college. He went to a practically all men's college Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, to become an engineer. I studied Marketing at St. Mary of-the-Woods College only 15 minutes away.
There, my "sorority sisters" Elizabeth and Heather introduced me at a fraturnity house. Being miserable and snotty, I had a pouty face all night with the idea of hanging out with, "frat boys". With my arms crossed in a chair, a funny fellow kept dripping water on me. The tempered person that I am, got up and threw beer on "mr. funny fellow". Which happened to turn out to be Nat.
Nathaniel decided to cheer her up by saying, "I love you" all night long.
....As time passed Nathaniel continued being very blunt, and not afraid to say NO! He didn't say I love you again for about 2 years since that night. I just LOVED Nathaniel and his stubborn ways. What got me hooked one for life was on Valentines Day back in 2006.
On Valentines Day, despite being in a fraturnity house, he went and made me fresh pasta and pasta sauce. I walked into his room with a dressed up table and flowers. I had kidney stones at the time, so instead of wine, he had giant liter beer mug full of water. Classical music was playing in the background. It was so romantic. That was the first day I knew he was a true chef. (Despite the fact that he caught the kitchen trash on fire)
So ANYWAY.... I just want to add that these recipes are pretty authentic. Nathaniel grew up with the tastes and smells of true Italian food growing up in Vincenza, Italy. So... enjoy. I know I do!
